And I want to put the record straight by saying, 'Actually I am really quite short. But if I look tall it is because I stand on the shoulders of the women in my life. Women who have inspired and taught, nurtured and poured their lives into mine.'" Njonjo Mue, Kenyan democracy and human rights campaigner. London-based Kenyan science writer Liz Nganga argues that the entire continent of Africa stands on the shoulders of its women. In order for it to stand tall and to develop sustainably, these shoulders must be kept strong. The onus for this task is on everyone, especially the young female elites who must guide women's agendas in Africa.
