Molecular Microbiology
Rehana Jauhangeer studied for a PhD in Molecular Biology at the University of Westminster in London. During her fellowship, she worked on the molecular biology of a microbe associated with foot ulcers in diabetics.
Now, Rehana Jauhangeer is a postdoctoral researcher and is teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the Clinical Immunology Department, University College London Hospital, UK. Her long-term plan is to create a diabetic foot clinic in her home country, Mauritius.
Following her fellowship, Rehana Jauhangeer received grants from Diabetes UK and WestFocus Centre for Knowledge Exchange, based in Kingston University, UK. She also served on a committee for the Global Scientific Challenges: Perspectives from Young Scientists Conference of the International Council of Science-UNESCO.
